Costa Mesa Based Morgan Drexen Go "Big" For a Day
Costa Mesa-based Morgan Drexen go "Big' for a day in partnership with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County.
COSTA MESA, CA, September 18, 2011 /Law and Legal PR News/ -- 17 Morgan Drexen employees, including a strong executive team, volunteered to participate in a 'Big for a Day' event designed to give children or 'Littles' awaiting a permanent match a chance to a enjoy a day of fun with an adult mentor or a 'Big'.
Morgan Drexen CEO Walter Ledda believes reaching out to the local community is essential for both economic and social development. "The event with Big Brothers Big Sisters was the perfect opportunity for the employees of Morgan Drexen to give back, they also had a great deal of fun doing so," admits Ledda.
With more than 50 years of service in Orange County, Big Brothers Big Sisters has given thousands of children the opportunity to reach their potential through such events and one-on-one mentoring. Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children reach their potential through one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth. A staggering 84% of "Littles" admitted that they learned a great deal from mentoring through the kindness of volunteers across the nation.
Morgan Drexen Chief Operations Officer, Rita Augusta praised the organization for their wonderful work and foresight. "I have a young son but during my day as a 'Big' I had the pleasure of learning from and conversing with two teenagers. It was a wonderful day and I now have some insight as what I can look forward to with my own son. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a wonderful organization I can't wait for the next event," adds Augusta
Morgan Drexen provides legal support services to attorneys across the nation and is part of the SIIA as it is recognized as a leader in legal automated software.
"We hold several charitable events throughout the year and this had to be the most fun event by far. It was my first time as a 'Big' but I can honestly say I am hooked, the smiles on the faces of the 'Littles' is something that will stay with me for a long time," says Morgan Drexen Creditor Liaison Manager Desmond Adams.
Morgan Drexen decided to sponsor a day at Camelot Golfland in Anaheim for the 23 children from the agency who signed up. The activities for the day included fun and learning, mini golf, laser joust, arcade games and plenty of pizza.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Community Outreach supervisor Melissa Gallagher says, "We would like to thank Morgan Drexen for sponsoring a Big For a Day at Camelot. With their support we were able to match 23 children from our waiting list to employees from Morgan Drexen for a fun day at Camelot. The children and the adults had a great time playing miniature golf, laser tag and video games. Everyone had a great time. Little Brother Erick said "It was the best day ever". At the end of the event two volunteers decided they wanted to become Big Brothers. We appreciate Morgan Drexen support and hope to partner with them again soon."
