Amanda D. Howland, M.A., M.S., JD, Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Child Advocacy Law and Public Service

Ms. Howland has an impressive record of community service to complement her legal expertise

LAKE ZURICH, IL, November 28, 2011 /Law and Legal PR News/ -- Amanda Howland, Attorney of Howland & Associates, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in child advocacy law and public service.

As an attorney of Howland & Associates and an aspiring politician, Ms. Howland has fourteen years of experience practicing civil law, child advocacy litigation, and her specialty, intellectual property law. A candidate for the Illinois State Senate, she boasts an impressive history of community service, including time spent as a teacher of emotionally disturbed students, an elementary school administrator, and a Federal District Court law clerk. She attributes her success to the fact that her mother, as a young divorcee, ensured that she grew to become an educated and independent person. Ms. Howland's professional choices have all been based on wanting to help others and to make a difference in the world.

Ms. Howland earned a J.D. with a special certification in intellectual property law from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, having received a Master's degree in psychology from Michigan State and a Master's degree in educational administration from Northern Illinois University. Her undergraduate work earned her a Bachelor's degree in psychology and teaching emotionally disturbed children from Central Michigan University. She is very active in her community and is a member of her local Chamber of Commerce, several non-profit organizations and numerous professional organizations. She was elected in 2008 to a six year term on the Board of Trustees at the College of Lake County.

Looking ahead, Ms. Howland wants to devote her career to working more in government, non-profit or a public service legal area.
